Juvenile Suspect Sought in Early Morning Stabbing on Cheek Road in Durham
DURHAM, NC — Durham County Sheriff’s Office deputies are actively searching for a juvenile suspect following a non-fatal stabbing reported early Wednesday morning (Feb. 11) in the 4000 block of Cheek Road.
According to authorities, deputies responded to a call for service just before 3:00 a.m. regarding an assault in progress. When patrol units arrived, the victim reported he had been stabbed in the head during the incident. The suspect fled the scene on foot before law enforcement arrived.
Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Officials have not released the identities of those involved, citing the suspect’s juvenile status and the ongoing nature of the investigation.
The known juvenile suspect remains at large, and deputies continue working to locate and apprehend the individual. Investigators have not disclosed additional details about what may have led to the incident.
Authorities emphasized that the stabbing appears to be an isolated incident and stated there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
