RALEIGH, NC – Three influential voices in Black leadership, media, and advocacy are set to take center stage in Raleigh as the NC Black Summit marks a major milestone. With a focus on unity, strategy, and impact, this year’s event is positioning itself as both a celebration and a call to action for communities across North Carolina.
20th Annual Summit Returns to Raleigh
The 20th Annual NC Black Summit, hosted by the North Carolina Black Alliance (NCBA), will take place April 23–24 at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree.
This year’s theme—“Unleashing OUR Power: United in Purpose”—sets the tone for two days of dialogue, collaboration, and forward-thinking solutions aimed at improving outcomes for Black communities across the state.
The event also marks 25 years of impact for NCBA, a nonprofit focused on policy, economic advancement, and leadership development.

The Summit will feature keynote appearances from three dynamic and influential women:
Angela Rye
A nationally recognized social justice advocate, attorney, and political commentator, Rye will headline the evening banquet. She previously served as executive director and general counsel for the Congressional Black Caucus.
Lynae Vanee
The luncheon keynote speaker, Vanee is a critically acclaimed digital storyteller best known for her viral series “Parking Lot Pimpin’.” She is also an NAACP Image Award winner for political and cultural commentary.
Sen. Kandie Smith
North Carolina State Senator Kandie Smith will deliver remarks during the opening breakfast session. Representing Edgecombe and Pitt counties, Smith has been a strong voice in the legislature, advocating against policies that negatively impact Black communities.
