Durham PD is Seeking Information About a Crash on Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard
The Durham Police Department’s Traffic and Crash Team (TACT) is seeking information about a vehicle and its driver involved in a serious crash on February 16, 2026, in the 4300 block of Durham Chapel Hill Boulevard.
The vehicle appears to be a 2006 or 2007 Honda Accord that’s gray/silver with a sunroof. The vehicle was last seen travelling southwest on Durham Chapel Hill Boulevard.

At approximately 2:08 p.m. the day of the traffic incident, a 2010 Nissan Altima driven by an adult female was travelling at a high rate of speed on US 15-501. The driver changed multiple lanes to merge onto Durham Chapel Hill Boulevard. As she merged from the second to the first lane, the suspect vehicle, also travelling at a high rate of speed, changed into the first lane. This caused the driver of the Nissan Altima to run off the road and lose control of the vehicle.
The female driver struck a guardrail, and the impact caused the vehicle to rotate, ejecting the driver. There were two children in the vehicle who were not injured. The driver was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
The video attached to this release shows both drivers moments before the Nissan Altima struck the guardrail.
