#Motiv8Mondays – Eric Lee

Welcome to Spectacular Magazine Independent Artist of the Week, the latest Spectacular Magazine weekly feature. Each week Raven Nicole Gibbs (professionally known as Raven Nicole), founder of the non-profit organization Motiv8, Inc., will feature an up-and-coming artist of various genres. This week we are featuring Eric Lee.

1. Who are You?

Eric Lee, and I am based in Raleigh, NC, Repeating the same cycle is like insanity.

2. How did you start?

 I started singing at the age of 6 in my local church and since then, music and singing have been my passion.

3. What is your genre/profession? 

I am a Gospel/Worship Artist.

4. Who are your musical or artistic influences?

WOW! There are so many, but to name a few, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, John Legend, Kim Burrell, John P. Kee, Marvin Winans, Robert Glasper, Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, Whitney Houston, Brandy, Michael Jackson.

5. What Motiv8s you?

My motivation is inspiring other to find and pursue their passions, there’s nothing like seeing someone illuminated by what they love to do.

6. Do you have any upcoming projects, shows, or appearances? What are your next steps?

I currently in the process of writing music along with some local engagements, looking to pursue recording an EP and eventually doing a live worship recording!
