Jamison-Myers Nets Pro Deal in Czech Republic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Recent Charlotte women’s basketball standout Nyilah Jamison-Myers has signed with BLK Slavia Praha in the Czech Republic to continue her career on the court at the professional level. She becomes the fifth 49ers player under head coach Cara Consuegra to turn pro after concluding her collegiate career.

Jamison-Myers joins the club, which plays in the country’s capital city of Prague, after a two-year stellar career with the Niners in which she quickly asserted herself as one of the most dominant post players of Consuegra’s tenure.

She capped her two-year career as an All-Conference USA Second Team and All-Conference Defensive Team choice in 2017-18. It was her second-straight all-defensive team accolade, becoming the first multi-time recipient in the school’s Conference USA eras (1996-2005; 2014-present).

She finished the campaign with 67 blocked shots, the third most in a single season in program history, while her 130 in her two seasons donning the green and white place her sixth among all-time Niners. She is one of two players, along with Jennifer Hailey, to register at least two seasons with at least 60 blocked shots.

Voted the Feb. 19, 2018, Conference USA Player of the Week, Jamison-Myers netted over 1,000 points in her career, which began at Clemson.

After graduation in May, Jamison-Myers bolstered her stock in front of several pro scouts at two combine events in April. She attended the ProHoops Combine and the Merit Pro Combine in the Columbus, Ohio, area during the Final Four weekend, which gave her a chance to showcase her skills on the court as well as attend a panel discussion with former and current WNBA players.

BLK Slavia Praha competes in Czech Republic’s highest level of competition, the Women’s Basketball League, and it reached the quarterfinals of the playoffs, last season. It plays its home games inside Hall Slavie Eden in Prague.

The team’s season begins in early October and runs through early March, leading into the playoffs.
