400 Years: Year Of Commemoration And Return
October 5, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - October 6, 2019 @ 1:00 am
August 2019 marks 400 years since the first enslaved African landed in Jamestown VA, and started a diaspora and African-American History. With Congress passing H.R. 1242 – 400 Years of African-American History Commission Act to commemorate the anniversary, and Ghana as a major “exit of no return” for Trans-Atlantic slaves designating 2019 as Year of Return, we have combined these two themes to organize a unique Anniversary GALA in North Carolina for this historical moment!
You are cordially invited to a special evening to observe the anniversary and commemorate 400 years of perseverance. Come and HONOR the Ancestors and Heritage by embracing the past, standing tall on their shoulders, and rekindle aspirations. Your attendance will enable diversified groups in NC to join together to commemorate those who persevered, promote reconciliation and ensure that diversity is celebrated by future generations.
Please Come One. Come All.
Tickets are refundable until the week of the event so don’t delay purchasing your ticket, buy quickly before it’s sold out! No tickets will be sold at the door.
