[Trailer] Tyler Perry’s Sistas Shines Light on Love & The Value of Friendship
Dramatic comedy “Sistas” joins the political drama “The Oval” as the first two projects to premiere on BET Networks under Tyler Perry’s exclusive, multi-year deal with parent company Viacom. Under the Viacom deal, Perry is committed to producing two dramas, two comedies and a live holiday-themed production — all to air on BET between October 2019 and September 2020 (aka fiscal year 2020).
“Sistas” and “The Oval” will premiere on BET on Wednesday, October 23rd.
“Sistas” revolves around a group of single black women from different walks of life who bond over their one common thread: why they’re single. In this bold new series, viewers will watch the women navigate their complicated love lives, careers, and friendships through the ups and downs of living in a modern world of social media and unrealistic relationship goals.
The hourlong drama takes viewers on a roller-coaster ride of emotions and hilarious moments that are the epitome of #squadgoals.
KJ Smith (The Fix), Ebony Obsidian (If Beale Street Could Talk), Mignon Von (42 Seconds) and Novi Brown (Spider) star. The cast also includes DeVale Ellis, Chido Nwokocha, Anthony Dalton, Brian Jordan Jr, and Kevin Walton.
Perry writes, directs and executive produces both series, with Tyler Perry Studios’ Michelle Sneed serving as executive producer on both.
“The Oval” stars Ed Quinn and Kron Moore as the picture-perfect first couple, Hunter and Victoria Franklin, who, behind closed doors, is anything but flawless. Paige Hurd and Daniel Croix Henderson will also star as the couple’s wild-child daughter and troubled son.
