SAU’s Booker Picks Up CIAA Football Rookie of the Week Honor

RALEIGH NC  – Cornerback Cornelius Booker (Fr./Kannapolis, NC) of Saint Augustine’s University was named CIAA Football Rookie of the Week on Monday after a stellar performance against Tusculum over the weekend.

Booker tallied eight tackles and three pass breakups, all team highs, in the season opener at home. His five solo stops also led the SAU defense. 

The Kannapolis, N.C., native is the CIAA leader in pass breakups after the first week. He and his Falcon teammates travel to Gaffney, S.C., this Saturday (Sept. 11) for a non-conference matchup against Limestone at 7 p.m.
