NC State Redeems Themselves with Game Two Win
LOUISVILLE, KY – The NC State Wolfpack (25-12, ACC 11-8) regains the lead after a long back-and-forth battle with the Louisville Cardinals (26-12, ACC 10-7) to win 15-10 at Jim Patterson Stadium.
The three-game series taking place this weekend is now tied 1-1 after the Pack’s victory this afternoon.
The Pack took the lead early in the second inning with Senior, J.T Jarret hitting a double down left field which resulted in an RBI for a two-run score. Peyton Green and Jacob Cozart hit back-to-back home runs giving NC State a 5-0 lead.
Louisville was able to tie the game 9-9 in the bottom of the sixth due to a double to left-center by Jack Payton. Isaac Humphrey then took the lead for the Cardinals with a hit down the left-field line allowing Usher to score to put them up 10-9.
The Cardinal lead didn’t last long as the game moved into the eighth inning when the Pack answered with five runs to put NC State back up 15-10.
Senior, J.T Jarret, and Sophomore, LuJames Groover III led the Pack on offense in today’s matchup. Jarret had five at-bat appearances with three runs, three hits, six RBIs, a pair of doubles, and a home run to add to NC State’s 15-run game. Groover was also a key player having six at-bat appearances with two runs, three hits, two RBIs, a double, and a home run.
The Pack earned five home runs to finish out the day which made their seventh one of the series thus far.
The showdown continues tomorrow at 1 P.M. back at Jim Patterson Stadium for game three of the series which will be streaming on ACC Network.
