NC State Wins Sixth Consecutive in Blowout Win over Davidson
RALEIGH, NC — The No. 8 ranked NC State women’s basketball team improved to 10-1 following an 81-47 victory over Davidson at home late Thursday night.
Sophomore guard Aziaha James led the way for the Wolfpack with a game-high 19 points off the bench while shooting 5-for-6 from beyond the arc. This is James’ second time this season going for double-digit points when getting more than 18 minutes.
The first half saw the Wolfpack go on a 20-5 run between the first and second quarter on the back of Senior center Camille Hobby. The Florida native scored 10 points and shot 5-for-5 during that run, giving NC State a 22-point lead heading into halftime. Hobby would finish the night with 14 points in just 22 minutes.
The Wolfpack kept the lead above 18 points for most of the second half as James and Senior center River Baldwin maintained the scoring attack for NC State. Baldwin’s 11-point, 11-rebound night marked just her second time recording a double-double this season.
The Wildcats were led by guard Issy Morgan as the only double-digit scorer for Davidson with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting as they fall to 4-7.
The Wolfpack look to win their seventh straight on Sunday when they take on conference rival Clemson at 6 p.m. on the ACC Network.
