Princess Jasmine McAllister, 26, was arrested following a death investigation in the Robbins area, announced Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields on Friday afternoon (June 7).

On May 30, sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive 18-month-old child at a residence on Spies Road in Robbins. The child was transported to Moore Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Investigators learned that McAllister, the child’s mother, had left the child unattended for a period of hours and had lied to investigators concerning the circumstances surrounding the death. Investigators charged her with one count of felony child abuse, one count of child neglect, and one count of resisting a public officer.

On June 7, investigators charged McAllister with one count of first-degree murder after obtaining additional evidence that she intentionally caused the death of the child. McAllister remains in the Moore County Detention Center without bond, pending an appearance in Moore County District Court on June 12.
