Durham Boys Evade Police, Flee to Franklin County

Franklinton, NC – Police are searching for two boys involved in multiple crimes and a chase between Franklin County and Durham.

According to the Franklinton Police Department, on Wednesday afternoon, three people under the age of 18 traveled from Durham to Franklin County in a stolen car.

There were several crimes committed in a “short window” after 4 p.m., including an armed robbery and assault, an attempted armed robbery, and the theft of another vehicle, according to police.

Police located and attempted to stop the stolen vehicles, but a chase ensued, leading officers to a Durham neighborhood and the home of one of the suspects.

A girl was taken into custody, and police are searching for two boys, who remain at large.

Juvenile petitions will be filed for the girl, who was released to her parents.
