UPDATE: Aaron Deshown Williams, 25, was taken into custody last night. He is currently being held in the Durham County Jail with no bond.

DURHAM, NC – Durham Police investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Aaron Deshown Willams, 25, of Durham, who is wanted for an aggravated assault and a robbery that occurred at a business on Fayetteville Road on Saturday evening.

At approximately 9 p.m. on July 27, 2024, officers responded to a report of an assault at Lowe’s in the 4400 block of Fayetteville Road. Based on an investigation, an employee of the business was assisting a customer when the customer took a sledgehammer from his shopping cart and struck the employee’s head. When the victim fell to the ground, the customer grabbed a drill set box and ran out of the store. EMS responded, and the victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The victim is now in stable condition.

Williams has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.
