Taylor Leads NC Central To Homecoming Victory

DURHAM, N.C. — The North Carolina Central University Eagles football team defeated the Morgan State Bears 16-7 on Saturday afternoon to celebrate their homecoming game.

With the win, the NCCU Eagles (6-2, 2-0 MEAC) extend their win streak against Morgan State to seven consecutive games dating back to 2015. 

At halftime, NCCU led 7-0.

Senior quarterback Harris Walker finished the game with 207 passing yards while completing 17-of-29 attempts.

NCCU junior running back J’Mari Tayler added in a monster game with 25 carries for 195 yards and a touchdown.

The Bears (3-5, 0-1 MEAC) were led by running back Jason Collins Jr who finished with 72 yards on the ground and a touchdown on 14 carries.

The NCCU Eagles will hit the road for their next matchup as they travel to Orangeburg, South Carolina for a Thursday-night, Halloween matchup against rivals SC State Bulldogs at 7:30 pm.
