Police Seek Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect in Clayton Walgreens Pharmacy Heist
CLAYTON, NC – Police are searching for a man accused of robbing a Walgreens pharmacy at gunpoint in the early hours of Tuesday, Nov. 26, stealing over 1,000 dosage units of prescription pain medication.
The robbery occurred around 1:00 a.m. at the Walgreens on U.S. Highway 70 Business West, near Robertson Street. According to the Clayton Police Department, the suspect approached the pharmacy counter wearing an N-95 mask and passed a note demanding prescription medications. He displayed a black handgun during the incident but did not take any money.
The suspect fled the scene after obtaining the medications. Investigators believe he changed clothes in a nearby parking lot before escaping on a motorcycle through downtown Clayton.
Description of the Suspect
Police describe the man as having blonde hair and wearing the following during the robbery:
- An N-95 mask
- A black-and-white T-shirt with “Stay Alive” printed on the front
- A gray undershirt
- Black Adidas jogger pants
- A baseball cap
- Glasses
