Arrest Made in May Guess Road Homicide in Durham
DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department has arrested Damonte Lewis, 25, in connection with the fatal shooting of Trocon George, 32, that occurred on Guess Road earlier this year.
The incident took place shortly after 8:30 p.m. on May 21, 2024. Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of Guess Road, where they found George in the parking lot of a local business. Tragically, George succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On December 9, Lewis was taken into custody and charged with murder, felony conspiracy, and possession of a weapon of mass destruction. He is currently being held at the Durham County Jail without bond.
