Two Men Arrested After Parachuting From Crane at Raleigh Construction Site
RALEIGH, NC – Early Christmas Eve morning, Raleigh Police arrested two men after they were found trespassing atop a crane at the City Hall construction site on West Hargett Street.
Around 2:00 AM on December 24, officers responded to reports of individuals scaling the crane. Upon arrival, they discovered two men with parachutes at the crane’s peak. Moments later, the pair leaped from the crane, landing safely on the new City Hall parking deck.
The suspects, identified as Jason McClure, 51, and Jorge Chacon, 37, were uninjured in the incident. Both were taken into custody and charged with First-Degree Trespassing and Resisting a Public Officer.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
