GoRaleigh Announces Changes To Bus Routes

GoRaleigh announced on Thursday that they will increase services starting on February 9. Funding through the Wake Transit half-cent sales tax allows GoRaleigh to continue growth in one of the Four Big Moves from the Wake Transit Plan, increasing their frequent, reliable urban network. Full details on all February service changes can be found on the GoRaleigh website.

High Frequency Network change:

  • Route 11 Avent Ferry will become a 15-minute frequency route.

New weekend service:

  • Route 33 Knightdale will now be Route 33L Knightdale and will feature weekend service. On weekdays the route will now run to the new Wake Tech East campus servicing students and employees.

Additional changes include:

  • Route 5 Biltmore Hills will experience schedule changes.
  • Route 9 Hillsborough will have a few changes to timepoints.
  • The R-Line will now be going North on Harrington Street and turning left onto Edenton Street, instead of Hillsborough Street.

High Frequency Network in Raleigh

In January 2024, GoRaleigh had 40 miles of High Frequency Network routes (defined as service operating every 15 minutes for at least 12 hours per day). In May 2024 the network increased to 80 miles and in February we will have over 110 miles of service operating every 15 minutes.
