Longtime Durham Deputy Charged with Solicitation Offenses, Investigation Ongoing
DURHAM, NC – A 19-year veteran of the Durham County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested and charged with two misdemeanors related to solicitation of prostitution, officials confirmed Tuesday.
Charges Filed
Deputy Derrick Neville, 48, was arrested earlier Wednesday, May 7, and charged with:
- Solicitation of Prostitution
- Patronizing a Prostitute
Neville was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. He is currently on administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal and criminal investigations.
Department Statement
The Durham County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) confirmed the arrest and stated it is cooperating fully with the investigation. No further comment has been made at this time.
