Logann Johnson Crowned 2025 Miss Jabberwock by Chapel Hill-Carrboro Area Deltas

Delta Sigma Theta honors excellence, elegance, and empowerment at annual scholarship pageant

CHAPEL HILL, NC – With grace, confidence, and academic distinction, Logann Nicole Johnson was crowned 2025 Miss Jabberwock on Saturday, May 3, during the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s highly anticipated Miss Jabberwock Scholarship Pageant. The ceremony was held at the Friday Conference Center on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill.

Logann, who was also voted “Miss Congeniality” by her fellow court members, is the daughter of Mr. Jeffrey and Mrs. Beverly Johnson. She is a 12th-grade honors student at Bethesda Christian Academy and plans to attend Hampton University, majoring in Computer Information Systems. She was escorted by Je’Vaun Keith, a junior at North Carolina A&T State University majoring in Computer Science.

Meet the 2025 Miss Jabberwock Court

First Runner-Up:
Miss Kamaria Symone Smith – Daughter of LaTonya and Keith Smith, Kamaria is an 11th-grade honors student at Hillside High School. She plans to major in Graphic Design and Film at UNC-Greensboro, UNC Charlotte, or North Carolina A&T. Kamaria was voted “Highest GPA” (4.6) and “Miss Visionary Leader” by the court. She was escorted by Jordan Mastrodonato, a high school junior at Wake Young Men’s Leadership Academy and Wake Tech, who plans to attend NC Central University and major in Finance.

Miss LaTavia Sanai Harris – Daughter of Mr. Travis and Mrs. Latelia Harris, LaTavia is a 12th grader at Orange High School. She plans to study Chemical Engineering at North Carolina A&T. Her escort was Tacari Malik Goodwin, a junior at Walter M. Hines High School, also planning to attend NC A&T, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Miss Kelci Olivia Lucas – Daughter of Lakeisha Williams Lucas and the late Travis L. Lucas, Kelci is an 11th grader at Durham School of the Arts. She plans to study Electrical Engineering and Architectural Design at North Carolina A&T. Her escort was her brother, Kaleb Zaire Lucas, a sophomore at NC A&T studying Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Miss Camren Uvonne Elizabeth Pierce – Daughter of Mr. Fredrick Pierce and Mrs. Brittney McGraw, Camren is an 11th grader at Durham School of the Arts. She plans to attend UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC Charlotte, or Xavier University to study Anesthesiology. She was escorted by Jamaal Davis, a sophomore at NC A&T majoring in Computer Engineering.

A Night to Remember

The evening featured entertainment from Harpist Sybil Stewart and Benjamin Mittman Jr. of B’Jams Entertainment, as well as energetic group dance numbers performed by the court, their escorts, and mothers. Bianca Holman served as Mistress of Ceremonies, and Miss Jabberwock 2023 Gracie Drake—now a freshman honors student at Hampton University—returned to take her final walk and crown the new Miss Jabberwock.

The event included both pre- and post-receptions, and a talent showcase that highlighted the court’s creativity in spoken word, live art, cooking demonstrations, piano, vocals, and mime performance.

What Is Jabberwock?

The Jabberwock is a cherished Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. tradition, dating back to 1925, designed to foster personal development, leadership, and cultural enrichment in young women while raising funds for college scholarships.

Key components of the program include Personal Development, Leadership Skills, Cultural Enrichment Activities, Community Service Projects, Fundraising, Talent Presentation, and Jabberwock Pageant.

This year’s Jabberwock Co-Chairs were Bonita C. Mittman and Kathy L. Williams, with Hazel Gibbs serving as Chapter President.
