Third Shooting in Eight Hours Leaves Durham Man Critically Injured

DURHAM, NC – A man is in critical condition following the third shooting in Durham on Sunday, according to the Durham Police Department.

The latest incident occurred just before 6:15 p.m. on June 30 in the 3700 block of Wiggins Street, located in northeast Durham near Old Oxford Road and Dearborn Drive.

Police say the victim, an adult male, was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. No further details about the victim or potential suspects have been released.

Earlier in the day, officers responded to a double shooting on Reservoir Street around 10:55 a.m., where a man was fatally shot and a 15-year-old girl was injured.

Multiple Incidents, Ongoing Investigations

This marks the third shooting in Durham within an eight-hour span on Sunday. Investigators have not indicated whether the shootings are related.

“These incidents remain under active investigation and no additional details are available at this time,” officials said in a news release.
