Man Arrested After Live-streaming His Pursuit

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A Nash County man with 22 active criminal cases led deputies on a high-speed chase while allegedly livestreaming the pursuit on Facebook, tossing methamphetamine and fentanyl out of his car as he sped away, authorities said.

The chase unfolded shortly after 11:30 a.m. Saturday, when deputies attempted a traffic stop for an equipment violation near 3684 Dunbarton Road, just southwest of Rocky Mount, according to the Nash County Sheriff’s Office.

As deputies approached the vehicle, the driver reportedly tried to hand a firearm to a family member inside the car.

“Immediately, the deputy ordered the family member to surrender the firearm, and she complied,” the sheriff’s office said.

Moments later, the driver — identified as 28-year-old Jonathan Kendall Bulluck, a convicted felon — suddenly took off, racing away from the stop and launching a pursuit that stretched across county lines.

Deputies said Bulluck sped along N.C. 97, turned onto West Tarboro Road, and crossed into Edgecombe County, reaching speeds of up to 80 miles per hour. During the chase, authorities say Bulluck threw multiple packages of narcotics out of the car window in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence.

After nearly six miles, a Nash County deputy successfully ended the pursuit at the intersection of Bullock School Road and Green Pasture Road.

Deputies later recovered the discarded drugs, which were identified as methamphetamine and fentanyl, packaged individually. The firearm surrendered during the traffic stop was a Taurus 9mm handgun, officials said.

Investigators also made a startling discovery after Bulluck’s arrest.

“Upon further investigation, it was determined that Bulluck was livestreaming on Facebook during the vehicle pursuit,” deputies said.

Authorities say Bulluck continued to act aggressively even after being taken into custody. During transport to jail, he allegedly made threats toward law enforcement officers and attempted to spit on a deputy, according to the release.

Bulluck now faces a long list of charges, including felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, which makes his vehicle subject to seizure under North Carolina’s “Run and Done” law.

Additional charges include:
• Felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
• Felony possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin/fentanyl
• Felony possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine
• Felony malicious conduct by a prisoner
• Communicating threats
• Resisting, obstructing, or delaying a law enforcement officer
• Multiple traffic violations

Bulluck appeared before a Nash County magistrate and was denied bond due to his extensive criminal history and pending cases. He is scheduled to appear in Nash County District Court on Monday.
