Duke Blue Devils looking to stay Undefeated
Atlanta, GA.- The Duke Blue Devils will travel down 85 South to Atlanta this Saturday to continue their undefeated start to the 2026 season as they take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field. Duke enters undefeated at 4-0, while Georgia Tech is looking to get its season back on track after opening 1-3. The game will be an important early ACC matchup, positioning-wise, for both programs. Weather could also be a factor, with forecasts calling for rain and strong wind gusts, conditions that could affect the offense and special teams.
The Blue Devils enter with momentum and confidence after a bye week, and they will have a chance to make a statement in conference play and possibly earn a Top 25 national ranking. The Yellow Jackets will have their home crowd behind them and have a recent history of success in this rivalry. The Blue Devils must be prepared as they step onto the field against an opponent who knows their strengths and weaknesses from past encounters.
Duke’s biggest offensive weapon is running back Nate Sheppard, who has rushed for 644 yards through four games, and Georgia Tech has allowed over 180 rushing yards per game. The Blue Devils should give Sheppard plenty of opportunities to attack the Yellow Jackets’ defensive line and help control both time of possession and the line of scrimmage. Quarterback Walker Eget has to make smart decisions to avoid costly turnovers; by using the running game, they can create opportunities for play-action passes that keep Georgia Tech’s defense staggered. If the Yellow Jackets commit extra defenders in the box to stop Sheppard, Duke will need to capitalize with their passing attack.
One mind-blowing stat: Duke hasn’t defeated Georgia Tech since 2019 and hasn’t won at Bobby Dodd Stadium since 2018, meaning Georgia Tech has won the last five meetings between the programs.
