Colin Kaepernick Reportedly Signs Book Deal Worth $1,000,000

NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick has remained relatively mum on the subject of his silent protests about his current employment situation…denied a chance to play for any NFL team, after taking a knee during the national anthem as a protest against police brutality to the people of color,

But the most exciting news is that we are about to hear from him directly. As reported by Page Six, Kaepernick recently signed a deal with Random House imprint One World that’s worth over $1 million.

The same outlet reported that Kaepernick was shopping a book and had been seen “taking meetings with publishers in the New York offices of WME.”

In 2016, Kaepernick made national headlines when he began kneeling during the national anthem as a form of protest against the often unjustified and unpunished killings of black men by police.

Earlier this year, Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers. It is apparent that his protests have led to his being blackballed by the league.

As a way of showing solidarity, other players have also picked up the torch and are kneeling during the anthem both in support of Kaepernick.

Although the NFL doesn’t require players to stand during the anthem, last week, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said that he would prefer if the players stood.

Michael Bennett, Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman took a stand and said he would remain seated during the national anthem and mobilize other players to follow suit.

But the idea of hearing Kaepernick tell his story in his words has people ready to preorder a book that may not even exist.

Ex-San Francisco 49ers quarterback Kaepernick is still looking for a job in the NFL after opting out of his 49ers contract earlier this year.

The issue of NFL player protests reached a technical level after President Trump weighed in. While campaigning for Alabama Senate runoff candidate, President Trump took the opportunity to refer to Colin Kaepernick as a “son of a b**ch.”

The President went ahead and criticized some players in the National Football League saying team owners should fire players for ‘taking a knee during the national anthem.’

“NFL owners should respond to such players by firing them,” said Mr. Trump among cheers from the assembled crowd.

For now, neither Kaepernick nor One World has responded to inquiries from Page Six.
