African American Lecture Series: Visit The Saltbox Seafood Joint

This presentation will be a virtual event. 

New Bern native, Chef Ricky Moore, and his wife, Norma, invite you to the Saltbox Seafood Joint (virtually)–the trendy eatery in Durham, NC.

They will talk about how they got started using fresh North Carolina Seafood, as well as the foods indigenous to this area.  There will be a cooking demonstration, with secrets of how they add the flavor, taste, and different ingredients that make their food so innovative. 

 Finally, they will talk about the impact of the pandemic on their business, family, and the local seafood landscape. This will include how many restaurants and fishermen have been devastated by the pandemic and how difficult it has been to save the jobs of their employees.
