JB Duke Hotel Thursdays with Tea Cup Gin Jazz Series

 JB Duke Hotel, North Carolina’s contemporary lodging destination located on the campus of Duke University, has announced its fall jazz series, Thursdays with Tea Cup Gin. The events will feature local band Tea Cup Gin at the JB Duke Hotel on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 5-7 p.m., recurring on Thursday, Nov. 7 and Thursday, Dec. 5.

Tea Cup Gin is a Durham-based indie-jazz band inspired by an eclectic blend of early 20th-century musical genres, including ragtime & delta blues, tango, and cabaret. The band stirs up unique sounds using two acoustic guitars, infusing impassioned vocals and dynamic bass and percussion for a truly special performance.

JB Duke Hotel will feature its own version of the Vesper Martini for guests to sip on as they enjoy the show. The classic cocktail was created by Ian Fleming, making its debut in the 1953 James Bond novel “Casino Royale,” with James Bond famously ordering the drink “shaken, not stirred”. The martini will include Durham’s own Conniption Gin, Stolichnaya Vodka and St. Germaine, served up with a lemon twist.

Delectable offerings from JB Duke Hotel’s recently released fall menu will also be available to order, including fan-favorite Pumpkin Gnocchi, which uses roasted mushrooms, winter squash, rapini, brown butter, walnuts, Parmigiano-Reggiano and sage for a truly delicious autumn pick. Other seasonal selections include Crab Bisque, Carrot and Kale Salad, Bacon Jam Burger and much more.
