Durham Youth Climate Justice Initiative will host the March For Black Students on Saturday, June 13 at 6 pm. Redefining Safety. Crime is a public health issue…and we don’t have the resources to help our students.
Statement from organizers:
“We must ask Durham’s Board of Education to terminate their contract with the Durham Sheriff’s Department to remove School Resource Officers from Durham Public Schools (DPS). We will meet at the DPS Central Office and march peacefully to the Sheriff’s Office downtown.”

Youth-led and organized march is planned by DPS students Aissa Dearing, Elijah King, Jennah Formey, and Jay Rahim. #BlackStudentsMatter
