Meet LATICIA NICOLE BEATTY: Spectacular Magazine 2017 Woman of the Year/Community Service

Laticia Nicole Beatty was one of two selected as the Spectacular Magazine 2017 Woman of the Year in the Community Service category. Laticia Nicole is an Administrator for PruittHealth-Carolina Point. She holds a BS from Winston Salem State University and a Master in Business Administration from University of Phoenix. She is the founder of Purpose Professionals, a non-profit established to address the food insecurity issues, especially among seniors. In 2015, over 5,000 families were fed through Laticia Nicole’s dedicated efforts.

The criteria for the Community Service are that the recipient should have volunteered her time for one or more activities that were to the immediate benefit of others in the community; must be of African heritage.

Due to the large number of nominations in the Community Service category two awards were presented.

Recipients of the Spectacular Magazine 2017 Women of the Year were nominated by members of the community. The nominees are narrowed down to three semi-finalists in each category (six in the Community Service category). An on-line voting process affords the public to select the recipient. They are named at a Sunday’s Best Spectacular Magazine Women of the Year Awards Gala.

Laticia Nicole discusses what motivates her and makes her a successful leader.

Spectacular Magazine (SM): Describe what makes you a successful leader in the area for which you were honored?

Laticia Nicole Beatty (LNB): What makes me a successful leader is that I truly love people and want to

see their needs met. Also, what makes me a successful leader is like God has no respecter person.  I don’t have a respecter person, we are all created equal. Just like Philippians 4:12 says I know what it is to be in need and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. But I also know that what I make happen for God’s people He will make happen for me. 

 

SM: Can you name a person who has had a tremendous impact on you as a leader? Maybe someone who has been a mentor to you?

LNB: Pastor Rose Thomas of Unfailing Love Christian Church has made an impact in my life. Not only is she a wonderful pastor, teacher and a mentor, she also is an amazing spiritual mother. Her love is always unfailing and she leads with it. I love my pastor; she’s always there for me, she always listens to me and gives me great advice. I couldn’t ask for better pastor, teacher and Spiritual mother.

 

SM: What problem or condition in your respective field do you want to solve or improve?

LNB: I am an author, speaker, and a personal development coach that helps women conquer fears to help maximize their potential business and create positive personal relationships.

I am also the Founder of PD Inc., which is a nonprofit organization that helps underserved issues within the community.

SM: What legacy would you like to leave behind?

LNB: The legacy that I would like to leave behind is motivating everyday people to help one another. by supporting the people by feeding, clothing and treating each other with respect and love.

 

SM: What is at the top of your bucket list for 2017?

LNB: I would like to take my family to  Dubai to experience another country and how they live.
