Thursday Night Preview: Carolina Panthers at Pittsburgh Steelers ?

Week 10 gets underway on Thursday, November 8 (8:20 PM ET, FOX/NFL Network/Amazon Prime) with an interconference battle as the Carolina Panthers take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. The Steelers enter Week 10 having won four consecutive games, while the Panthers are riding a three-game winning streak. Thursday marks the seventh meeting between the two teams with the Steelers leading the series, 5-1, including five consecutive victories. In their last game, Steelers quarterback BEN ROETHLISBERGER connected with wide receiver ANTONIO BROWN on two touchdown passes in Pittsburgh’s 37-19 victory at Carolina on September 21, 2014. ​

In Week 9, Carolina running back CHRISTIAN MC CAFFREY totaled 157 scrimmage yards (79 rushing, 78 receiving) and two rushing touchdowns and defensive end MARIO ADDISON recorded a career-high three sacks and added a forced fumble in the Panthers’ 42-28 win over Tampa Bay. Panthers quarterback CAM NEWTON has thrown at least two touchdown passes in seven consecutive games, tied with STEVE BEUERLEIN for the longest streak in franchise history, and aims for his fourth game in a row with two touchdown passes, no interceptions and a 100+ passer rating. McCaffrey, who has 502 rushing yards and 378 receiving yards in 2018, is one of three players in the NFL with at least 500 rushing yards and 375 receiving yards this season, joiningPittsburgh’s JAMES CONNER and the New York Giants’ SAQUON BARKLEY.​​

Last week, Conner had 107 rushing yards, 56 receiving yards and a touchdown catch in the Steelers’ 23-16 win at Baltimore. Conner has four games with at least 100 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards and at least one touchdown this season, the most such games by a player in a single season in NFL history. Brown, who has a touchdown catch in six consecutive games, has three touchdown receptions in eac​h of his past two games played on Thursday night. Conner (10 touchdowns) and Brown (nine touchdowns) are one of two pairs of NFL teammates w​​ith at least eight touchdowns each in 2018, joining Kansas City’s KAREEM HUNT (13) and TYREEK HILL (eight).​​​
