Shaw’s Keen Named CIAA WBB Newcomer of the Week for a Third Time

CHARLOTTE, NC – For the third time this season,junior Macy Keen (Fort Lauderdale, FL) of the Shaw University women’s basketball team was selected as the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Basketball Newcomer of the Week announced by the league office Monday (Jan. 21).

Keen earned the honor after an 18-point and 21-rebounds performance in the Lady Bears win over Paine College last week. She tallied 38 points and an impressive 43 rebounds during last week’s action despite not playing against Lincoln (Pa.) Monday (Jan. 14).

Shaw women’s hoops (5-12, 0-7 CIAA) will look for its first conference win in key division game at Winston-Salem State team (9-8, 5-2 CIAA) on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m.
