Solange Drops Video For “Way To The Show”

On Monday (April 1) Solange dropped her video for her single “Way To The Show” off of her latest album “When I Get Home.” The video depicts Solange with multiple other women all wearing matching black tube tops, black shorts and snakeskin boots.

 

Solange released her fourth studio album “When I Get Home” in March 2019, allowing her fans to witness her creativity and variety as an artist. “When I Get Home” can be described as a combination of Jazz, Neo-soul, and Hip Hop. The album holds 19 songs and features Playboi Carti, Gucci Mane, and The Dream, as well as, brief interludes that include segments from conversations with her mother Tina Knowles and others. The visuals for the album are defined as “Afro-futurist” and mimics her home state of Texas by emphasizing black cowboys and other characteristics of the area. Solange calls the visuals that correlate with her album a “Texan Film.”

“Top Boy” Returns on Netflix; was Drake Previews Trailer At Concert In London

During Drake’s performance at a show in London on Monday night (April 1) he gave his fans an exclusive look at the trailer for “Top Boy,” a new series on Netflix that he’s executive producing.

 

The singer/rapper is producing the show along with Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson and Adel Nur. Top Boy is a British crime drama series set in East London, following the lives of a group of people involved in criminal activities such as street gangs and drug dealing. The show released two seasons between 2011 and 2013. The show was cancelled after the second season, however Drake confirmed in November 2017 that the 3rd season of Top Boy would air in 2019. The series will premiere this Fall and will only be available on Netflix.

J. Cole Executive Producing Young Thug’s New Project

Fans were surprised when J. Cole added Young Thug to his KOD tour, but now Complex is reporting that the North Carolina rapper is going to executive produce Young Thug’s upcoming album. Young Thug has not released a new album since 2017 release of “Beautiful Thugger Girls,” so it’s safe to say this album is much needed within his fan base. The two began their collaboration when Cole added him to the lineup of his Dreamville Festival and his KOD tours. Fans did not expect this collaboration considering their different music styles and lyricism. As of now, there are no details on the release date for this project or the title.

Janet started her singing career in the 80’s with the release of her debut self-titled album, which included her hit song “Young Love.” Throughout Janet’s career she sold an estimate of 100 million records worldwide and was named best selling female recording artist in the US.

Logic Becomes First Rapper With No. 1 Best Selling Novel

Def Jam artist Logic is now a New York Times best selling author. The rapper’s debut novel Supermarket ranked No. 1 on the Time’s weekly Paper Trade Fiction list. On Wednesday (April 1) after finding out the good news, Logic thanked his fans via Instagram. Humbled. “Thank you all” he wrote. Supermarket is a thriller about a character named Flynn who battles with depression and anxiety, and on top of that just went through a difficult break up. The main character takes a job at a supermarket, and soon finds out that things are not always what they seem. In an interview with New York Times last month Logic revealed that he’d started this novel four years ago. He also made it seem as if he wanted explore other projects. “I didn’t want to necessarily just be stuck in music,” he said.

Beyoncè Reportedly Has New Music On The Way And A Netflix Special

Us Weekly reported that Bey has been in the studio recording new material and is working on a Netflix special! The Netflix special is based around her iconic 2018 Coachella performance. Sources close to the singer told the magazine that she’s not working on a full length project right now. She’s just working on “a couple of new tracks [for] a deluxe album filled with old songs.” No further information on whether this is an anniversary project or an extension of Lemonade.
