Lady Wolfpack Release 2019-20 Non-Conference Schedule

RALEIGH, NC – The NC State women’s basketball team released a competitive non-conference schedule for the 2019-20 season on Wednesday. Featuring 12 total dates, the schedule includes seven regular-season contests inside Reynolds Coliseum and one free exhibition. The schedule includes eight postseason teams from a year ago and the opponents on the list concluded the 2018-19 season with an average RPI of 118.

NC State has achieved a tremendous home court advantage inside Reynolds Coliseum in recent years. The Wolfpack is 47-6 on Kay Yow Court since the completed renovations and has won 29 consecutive non-conference games at home. Wolfpack fans continue to set season ticket sales records year after year, and have already surpassed last season’s total as of the end of July.

Entering the seventh season under head coach Wes Moore’s leadership, the Wolfpack recently enjoyed a 28-6 season that ended in the program’s second consecutive Sweet 16 appearance. Over the last six seasons, NC State has averaged 23.3 wins per year, including 10.5 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.

Following a free October 31 exhibition against Anderson University, NC State opens the season with four straight home games between Nov. 6-19. The Wolfpack will host WNIT participant North Carolina A&T in the regular-season opener on Nov. 6, UNCW on Nov. 10, WNIT participant Lamar University on Nov. 14, and 2019 NCAA Tournament first-round foe Maine on Nov. 19. The game against Maine will tip off at 10:30 am and will serve as NC State’s annual Education Day event in partnership with the Wake County Public School System. (Tickets for the Education Day game will not accompany season ticket mailings, but additional information regarding this event will be sent to season ticket holders in the coming weeks.)  

NC State will take to the road for the first time in late November, traveling west to California to play at WNIT participant Saint Mary’s on Nov. 24. The Wolfpack will travel further west in subsequent days, heading to Hawaii for a three-game tournament. At this competition, NC State will take on NCAA Tournament participant Texas (Nov. 29), WNIT participant and tournament host Hawaii (Nov. 30), and WBI finalist North Texas (Dec. 1).

The Wolfpack returns home to close out the non-league portion of its schedule when it hosts NCAA Tournament participant Maryland in the 2019 installment of the B1G/ACC Challenge on Dec. 5. NC State will then host Elon (Dec. 15) and head coach Wes Moore’s former team Chattanooga (Dec. 19).

Beginning with the 2019-20 season, the Atlantic Coast Conference schedule will feature 18 games against league opponents, an increase from the 16 that have been played on a regular basis since the 2013-14 season.

NC State home ACC opponents: Virginia, Virginia Tech, Duke, UNC, Syracuse, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Wake Forest.

NC State road ACC opponents: Virginia, Virginia Tech, Duke, UNC, Boston College, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Clemson, Miami.
