[Gallery] North Carolina Defeats Miami and Improves to 2-0

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina Tar Heels defeated the Miami (FL) Hurricanes 28-25 last night to capture a crucial Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division win.

North Carolina trailed 25-20 with 4:38 left in the game after leading the whole game. But, the Tar Heels manufactured a 9-play, 75-yard drive which was capped off by a 10-yard touchdown pass from freshman quarterback Sam Howell to junior wide receiver Dazz Newsome. UNC converted the ensuing two-point conversion with 1:01 left in the game to give themselves a 28-25 lead.

Miami had a chance to send the game to overtime, but sophomore kicker Buba Baxa missed a 49-yard field goal wide left in the final seconds of the game.

The Tar Heels (2-0, ACC 1-0) travel to Winston-Salem Friday to play the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (2-0, ACC 0-0) at 6 p.m.
