Who Will Be Named Spectacular Magazine 2019 Emerging Leader? Awards Show Sept. 14th

Cary, NC – Thirty-three amazing individuals will vie for the title of Spectacular Magazine 2019 Emerging Leader of the Year award in ten categories on Saturday, Sept. 14th. The black-tie Awards Show will take place at 7:00 pm in the Cary Arts Center Theater located at 101 Dry Ave. (Cary). A Red Carpet Reception precedes the Awards Show at 5:30 pm. Spectacular Magazine will recognize and honor the achievements of African Americans between the ages of 18 – 35 who have made a difference in the African American community in the following categories: Activism, Arts, Beauty/Fashion Industry Pro, Community Service, Education, Entrepreneurship, Fitness, Mentor, Social Media Influencer and Technology. Winners will also be announced on the Spectacular Magazine Radio Show on FOXY 107/104 on Sunday Sept. 15th at 7:30 am.

Nominations were accepted in ten categories and narrowed down by the ELOY Selection Committee (Committee), based on criteria, to three (3) semi-finalists in each category. Due to overwhelming submissions in the Entrepreneurship category, six semi-finalists were selected and two award recipients will be named in that category. The public had the opportunity to vote online Aug. 18 – Sept. 1 for these 33 semi-finalists. Based on the results of the online voting process, ten of those will receive the title of Spectacular Magazine 2019 Emerging Leader of the Year.

The Awards Show will be include performances by Miss Black USA Talented Teen 2019 Nayesah Williams, national recording artists O. Shariff and JT Make Moves, and R&B sensation Tiyane. Spectacular Magazine CEO/Publisher Phyllis Coley will host the show. 

Sponsors are Duke Energy, M&F Bank, The Aura Galleria, Black Dollar, RnB and Paint and Zaxby’s. During the Reception, Shoe Crazy Wine and Harlem Beer, both owned by African American females, will be available at the cash bar.
