[Review] Disney’s Aladdin At The DPAC – Magical, Truly A Must-See For All Ages!
Durham, NC – Disney’s Aladdin opened October 2nd at 7:30 pm at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) with a stellar performance! This phenomenal production is based on the Academy Award-winning animated film Aladdin. The love story of Aladdin (Jonah Ho’okano) and Princess Jasmine (Kaenaonalani Kekoa) is one that appeals to all ages.
Aladdin, with the help of his enthusiastic Genie (Korie Lee Blossey), is able to defeat the evil Jafar (Patrick R. Brown) and rescue his bride. This wonderful cast did a great job of bringing the film to the stage while also adding their own twist!
Their renditions of songs like “Friend Like Me” and “A Whole New World” had the crowded theater singing in harmony. The DPAC provided a great venue for such a magical production as Aladdin. As Prince Ali took Princess Jasmine on a ride on his magic carpet everyone felt as if we could touch the stars.
