[Video, Gallery] Carolina Waves Ends 2019 With Banging Mixer
Durham, NC – Carolina Waves Radio, formerly known as 919 Radio, is the new and revamped platform for North Carolina artists to get exposure. They hosted their Annual Carolina Waves Year End Mixer on Sunday, December 8th at Motorco Downtown Durham. This annual event was first held in 2016 as an all-female showcase highlighting up and coming singers, rappers, and poets in the Carolinas.
Carolina Waves (CW) was named the Best Open Mic in the Triangle by Indy Week and is an overall platform founded by Mir.I.Am that helps promote and connect indie artists across North and South Carolina.
“NC has so much talent at home, it’s time the world knew about it,” states Mir.I.Am on CW’s website. “We want music fans all over the world to hop on these Carolina waves!”
The Annual Year-End Mixer is one of the biggest music industry event in the Carolinas. Hosted by Mir.I.Am and featuring DJ RNB on the ones and twos, it’s an opportunity to reflect on all Carolina Waves has accomplished in 2019 and end the year with a bang.
Sponsored by Terrenzo Brands in conjunction with Carolina Waves, headliners included Imani Pressley, Jooselord Magnus, 3AM, 10cellphones, FIU, Godric Nahvol Steaks, Chyna Vonne, and Blakk Trell. The feature acts were the Carolina Waves All-Stars, Davaun Hickman, Tagem, and Red Jones.
There were live cyphers, performances, prizes, open mic, and tons of local music throughout the night. Radio personalities, program directors, tastemakers, influencers, and DJ’s from all over the Carolinas were in attendance.
