Six Ways To Keep Busy In Lockdown

If you haven’t been paying attention to 2020 so far, then there is every chance that you haven’t realized that the world is locked down and we’re all stuck inside. There’s no true idea of how long this will all last for, but what we do know is that we have to make a lot of changes to the way that we do things day-to-day to get through it. Lockdown is hard, and keeping busy is the only thing that we can do while we’re in it.

If you have found yourself stuck at home furloughed with the kids, you need to keep busy to keep your sanity. Not only have you potentially been dealing with home education as a novice teacher-slash-homeworker, you’re having to find ways to keep your mind occupied.

With that in mind, we’ve got six ways you can keep this lockdown busy. Let’s take a look:

1. Host A Party. A big positive of lockdown is that people have made more of an effort to see their friends and family, only they’re doing it online. With apps like the Fiesta App, people can log in at the same time and have meetings and parties like old times. Well, not exactly like old times, but you still get to have fun and chat with family and friends, and that’s something!

2. Get Through Netflix. If there are shows that you’ve been itching to get through, now is the time to get through them – especially if you don’t have kids with you. This can be a positive time, and you can catch up with all the binge-watching that you had lined up for weeks and never got around to!

3. Go Online & Play. You may not have been much of a fan of video games before, but now is lockdown. This means that it’s time to broaden your horizons and get online to play with your friends and family. You can keep your mind busy and practice your dexterity and problem-solving skills – and all with a console!

4. Dive Into A Book. Have you got a stack of novels lined up that you were itching to read and never got a chance? Well, now is the time. Are you ever going to have this level of free time again? Probably not!

5. Start A Hobby. If you are passionate about painting or giddy for gardening, the time is now to get started. You can really put your emotions out there onto paper – or into the way that you organize your garden. The time is now to do something entirely new, and gardening could be a new hobby that you take up and embrace!

6. Start A Business. Oh, that idea you had a while back that could make you some big bucks? Well, it’s time to get it out into the open and embrace it. The pandemic should not hinder you from offering trending products to customers and earning money even while at home. You can really make a difference with your ideas if you are smart about how you start your side hustle. Take the time to make your business plan right now, and when lockdown lifts, you can make a difference.
