As football season kicks off, Lifetime is tumbling into action with new movies that reveal the chilling side of cheerleading in the network’s annual Fear the Cheer movie slate. Vivica A. Fox stars in the newest title of The Wrong Cheer Captain which she also executive produces. Airing on August 29 at 8 pm/7C, The Wrong Cheer Captain also stars Jackée Harry and Alexis Samone.
On this episode of Spectacular Magazine Shorts, I have the pleasure of speaking with actress and performing artist Alexis Samone. She spoke with us about her upcoming movie coming to Lifetime. Alexis Samone is a well-known stage performer and music artist. We spoke about past and present ventures and working with legends in her new movie debut in our interview. Filming TheWrong Cheer Captain in six days, Alexis Samone shared how she got through it using help given by her costars.

About Alexis Samone
Alexis Samone is an experienced stage performer and is most known for her role as Lady In Blue in the stage play, For Colored Girls. Ms. Samone made her television debut as a performing artist on the hit show, 106&Park Top 10 Live on BET Network for the Wild Out Wednesday segment. She made her first stage debut as an actress for her role as Lady In Blue in For Colored Girls.
Alexis decided to delve into film and television acting and began in 2018 for her role as Earline Le’Day, in Jook Joint Blues. Later in the year, she also began filming for Raised By Kanye for her supporting role as Niecey. Samone’s most recent role is as the lead of Tiera Childs in the coming of age film, Influencer.
Along with her acting talent, Alexis Samone is a professional recording artist, songwriter, and pianist. Her first professional gig was a song for a McDonald’s radio commercial at the age of 16 years old. Ms. Samone is still in the beginning stages of her career but is becoming a triple threat with multiple talent skills beyond her years.

Cheering turns deadly with the mysterious death of Emma (Claire Tablizo) and Kate (Alexis Samone) begins to suspect that Anna (Sofia Masson), the newly appointed captain of her cheer squad, is responsible. As Kate searches for the truth behind Emma’s death, she soon becomes a target for Anna who is out to destroy her life.
