The Bulls Go 1-1 In Double Header Against the Bisons

BUFFALO, NY- The Buffalo Bisons (14-11) hosted the Durham Bulls (9-16) in two games this evening ending the night 1-1. Game one started at 5:30 P.M due to the rain postponing Tuesday’s game, while game two was played at 8:15 P.M. The Bulls took game one 5-1 but fell short in game two losing 5-0.

The Bulls’ Jonathan Aranda started the night off with a bang by homering down the right field to put Durham on the board in the first inning. Aranda finished game one with four at-bat appearances, four hits, two runs, and an RBI. Two stolen bases and a single from Ryan Boldt put the Bulls up 3-0 in the top of the third.

The Bulls started the night with the right-handed pitcher, Easton McGee only allowing one run with four strikeouts to keep Durham up 4-1. Faucher and Muller each playing one inning with two strikeouts left the Bisons scoreless since the fourth inning.

Things turned around in game two of tonight’s matchup, with the Bison’s adjustment in their pitching lineup. Right-hander, Jeremy Beasley played the first four innings finishing with five strikeouts and two hits. Hernandez and Johnston closed out the game with a combined four strikeouts to shut out the Bulls.

Nathan Lukes and Eric Stamets had two runs for the Bisons adding to their five-run game. Samad Taylor had a sacrifice fly to right field which gave Stamets his first run of the night in the third inning. Jordan Groshans hit a line drive giving him an RBI for Lukes to score and a sacrifice fly to right field for Stamets to get his second of the night.

The matchup between the Durham Bulls and the Buffalo Bisons continues tomorrow, May 5, at 6:05 P.M back at Sahlen Field.
