Revenge Gets Real: New True Crime Series “Payback” Joins TV One True Crime Mondays

The gripping true crime series profiles riveting cases where people go to deadly lengths to exact revenge against those who’ve scorned them. Whether it’s a cheating ex, a double-crossing co-worker, or the best friend who stabbed them in the back, it’s human instinct to want to get even. Though most don’t act on this impulse, there are those among us who are consumed by “getting even.” Sometimes these are cold, calculated attacks. Other times they are spontaneous acts of vengeance, born in the heat of the moment.  PAYBACK examines these shocking crimes and those who’ve crossed the line to seek the ultimate revenge. 

PAYBACK stands out from other true-crime series by digging deep into the killer’s emotional and psychological backstory. The series uses dramatic recreations and first-person interviews to tell the story from the perspective of those closest to the event, giving the audience an intimate connection to the story as it unfolds.

PAYBACK is produced by Jupiter Entertainment, with Patrick Reardon and David O’Donnell serving as Executive Producers. Madeline Griffey is Co-Executive Producer and Showrunner. The series was developed by Chris Spry, SVP of Development for Jupiter Entertainment. For TV One, Susan Henry serves as the Executive Producer in Charge of Production. Austyn Biggers serves as the SVP of Programming & Production.
