Carolina Waves to Host Annual Mixer and 5th Anniversary Celebration

DURHAM, NC – Carolina Waves, a multi-brand music and culture brand, will host its annual year-end mixer on December 18, 2022, at Motorco Music Hall (723 Rigsbee St.), beginning at 8 pm. The show is for all ages, and the cost of tickets is $15 advance/$ 20 at the door. The event will double as the brand’s five-year anniversary celebration

Founded by media personality, producer, and curator Mir.I.Am, Carolina Waves is an award-winning brand dedicated to providing resources and opportunities for local, underground, and independent artists. The brand produces curated concerts, showcases, industry mixers, podcasts, official festival activations, and stages. Since its inception, Carolina Waves has been awarded Best Open Mic two years in a row by Indy Week and has partnered with many of the region’s premier festivals, including Hopscotch Festival, Art of Cool Festival, Dreamville Festival, A3c Festival, Bull City Summit and the University of North Carolina’s Hip-Hop South Festival. 

The anniversary celebration will be hosted by Mir.I.Am, and feature DJ RNB and DJ Chuck T. Imani Presley and Jooselord will headline. The event will celebrate the brand’s successes over the years and feature surprises from the roster of star performers that have been featured by the brand over the last five years. 

With over 100 DJs, radio personalities and staff, bloggers, influencers, and media outlets from across the Carolinas in attendance, the mixer consistently is one of the biggest industry events held in the Carolinas annually. 

Notable acts who have performed on Carolina Waves stages and events include Tigo B, Toosii, Shame Gang, Mballa, Deniro Farrar, Young Bull, G. Yamazawa, Sonny Miles, Jooselord, Tiacorine, WELL$, Will Wildfire, Armani Caesar and others.
