Raleigh, NC – Wasted Candles doesn’t just provide customers with amazing candles, they provide people with a way to help the community in a big way. Wasted Candles is a Black-owned business created by Teresa Griffin, a skilled candle maker with over 17 years of experience in the craft. Teresa spawned the idea for the company in 2017 after a drunk driving incident that occurred with another student while her son was attending The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.

After this incident, Teresa wanted to make an impact on the issue of substance abuse among young people both locally and nationally, and thus the company was born. Wasted Candles is a clever play on words Teresa created to get people excited about helping aid in the education of youth on substance abuse and underage drinking while purchasing the brand’s amazing candles.
