Victim In July 20 Fatal Shooting Identified, Durham Police Investigation Continues
DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Raynor Street Thursday (July 20) afternoon.
At approximately 3:27 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert as well as an officer calling in a report of the sound of shots in the 1000 block of Raynor Street. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim who had been shot. EMS responded and the victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim in this fatal shooting has been identified as Benjamin Francois Morris, 43, of Raleigh. This is an active investigation and no further details are available at this time.
