Police Identify Durham Man, 50, Stabbed To Death In Carrboro 

On August 2, Kenneth Michael Moseley, a 50-year-old man from Durham, was fatally stabbed in Carrboro. The incident occurred at Town Commons on West Main Street around 9 p.m. Despite being rushed to UNC Hospital, Moseley succumbed to his injuries. Two Women Injured In Shooting Near Downtown Durham 

In the early hours of August 5, two women were shot while driving near Dillard Street in downtown Durham. The victims were part of a group traveling along N.C. Suspect Charged With Murder In July Shooting Death Of 28-Year-Old Durham Man

Durham police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on July 23. Corey Juan Pettiford, a 45-year-old resident of Durham, has been charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, and resisting a public officer. The crimes were categorized into various types, with Assault leading the count at 29 cases, followed closely by Theft at 27 cases. Other reported crimes included Arrest (8 cases), Vandalism (7 cases), and others such as Burglary, Trespass, Robbery, and Shooting, which collectively made up the remaining 16 cases. It’s noteworthy that the majority of the crimes committed were Assault and Theft, making up 70% of the total crimes reported during the week.

In light of the above data, it’s essential for Durham’s residents to prioritize their safety. Considering that Assault and Theft are the most prevalent crimes, it’s advisable to avoid walking alone, especially at night, in areas known for such activities.
