Drake Announces Release Date For His Upcoming ‘For All The Dogs’ Album

Drake’s fans have been on the edge of their seats all summer waiting for the release date for his upcoming album, For All the Dogs, and now they finally have a date.

In June, the Grammy winner announced his new album through a QR code in newspaper ads purchased in The New York Times and the New York Post to promote his poetry book Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness. Since this PR stunt, the rapper’s fanbase has been in a chokehold as they grew more curious about the project’s release date until Wednesday night.

The Degrassi alum announced the news by posting a video clip on Instagram with the caption, “FOR ALL THE DOGS SEPTEMBER 22.

The accompanying footage showcased the musical talents of his father, Dennis Graham. The recording was a TV segment where the Memphis native performed with a live band as he sang a blues song on a Toronto show in 1991. Humbled by the love Drake showed him, his father left a comment to thank him: “Awwwwwwww thank you Son 1991 Toronto Canada, seems like a hundred years ago, For All the Dogs🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯”

In return, and to keep the momentum going about the release date, Dennis posted For All the Dogs’ cover art and a caption where he praised the OVO Sound co-founder for the work he put into the album.

“I had the pleasure of sitting in my Son’s dressing room and listening to this new album, and I must say that it is some of the best music that I’ve heard him do, and I am sure that every Drake fan throughout the entire world is going feel this one, everything about For All The Dogs is what we’ve been waiting for, Congratulations Son I really feel this one ☝️ 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽September 22, 2023,” the proud dad wrote.

Drake responded, “Thanks dad 😎😎😎 I was so happy you loved it.”

September holds a special place on Drake’s calendar since he’s no stranger to dropping music during this month. According to Vibe, he released several projects, some being his most beloved, like So Far Gone in 2009, Nothing Was the Same in 2013, What a Time to Be Alive with Future in 2015, and Certified Lover Boy in 2021. Now, For All the Dogs will be his latest end-of-summer compilation.
