Update: Victim Identified, Suspect Arrected In Monday Morning Fatal Shooting

UPDATE: The victim who was killed in this incident has been identified as Angela Marina Risi, 30, of Durham.

UPDATE: Stephon Dubose, 30, of Durham, has been charged with murder and attempted first-degree murder in connection to this incident. He is currently being held in the Durham County Jail with no bond.
JUST IN: Durham Police Investigate Fatal Monday Morning Shooting

DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Worth Street on Monday morning.
At approximately 7:18 a.m. on October 2, 2023, officers responded to a report of a gunshot wound in the 1000 block of Worth Street. When officers arrived, they found two adult females had been shot. EMS responded, and both victims were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A short time later, one of the victims succumbed to her injuries.
Based on preliminary investigation, this appears to be an isolated incident. This is an active investigation, and no further information can be released at this time.
