North Carolina HBCU Receives Fourth Anonymous Million-Dollar Donation

SALISBURY, NC – Livingstone College continues to benefit from anonymous donors who are pouring major funds into the North Carolina HBCU. The school announced on Wednesday (April 23) that it received a $1 million dollar anonymous donation, the fourth consecutive anonymous donation of $1 million.

According to the school, Livingstone President Dr. Anthony J. Davis made the announcement on Friday, April 19, to members of the Salisbury-Rowan community and several of the college’s faculty and staff. Livingstone says that the donor has been a consistent and dedicated supporter of the college’s mission and vision.

Proceeds from this donation will be used to support a campus residence hall refurbishment project, according to the release. This donation follows in the footsteps of the College’s award of an Innovation Lounge Grant during the 2024 Retool Your School Contest, sponsored by Home Depot. Retool Your School is a multitiered project designed to provide grants to HBCU campuses to be used for campus improvement projects that promote sustainability and long-term benefits to the campus and students. That particular grant will allow Livingstone to enhance existing spaces on the campus where students can gather to collaborate.

The school has previously confirmed that the same individual made the first three $1 million donations. The latest release didn’t explicitly state that the same individual made the fourth donation.
