Durham Community Land Trustees Gains Support From Top Innovative Company
DURHAM, N.C. — One of Durham’s top innovative housing companies, Module Housing, has committed to being a Community Anchor Sponsor for the Durham Community Land Trustees’ 50th Anniversary Gala next month.
Module Housing’s mission is to build homes that uplift everyone involved; from the people living in them to the hands that construct them to the neighborhoods surrounding them. Their developments are thoughtfully designed to drive positive change and empower the communities they develop inside of. Module has long worked with developers, community organizations, land trusts, and local governments to build better homes through our thoughtfully-designed, sustainably-built housing solutions, which is why the partnership with Durham Community Land Trustees (DCLT) could not be more aligned.
“Their commitment to creating durable, long-term, affordable housing, coupled with their drive to innovate, sets them apart.” Co-Founder and CEO, Brian Gaudio said. “We are grateful to call [DCLT] a partner and collaborator,” he continued. “Congratulations to DCLT on 50 years.”
DCLT will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a gala taking place on Saturday, May 16th at the Aria Center in Durham beginning at 5pm EST. The evening will feature a garden cocktail hour, seated dinner, live entertainment and fundraising throughout the evening. Guests will also enjoy a retrospective program highlighting the organization’s history and achievements, as well as opportunities to support its future initiatives.
ABOUT DCLT : Founded in 1976 by Durham residents, Durham Community Land Trustees (DCLT) was created to ensure that housing in Durham remains affordable, not just today, but permanently. As a community land trust, DCLT separates the cost of land from the cost of the home, preserving affordability for generations. The unique board structure including one-third residents, one-third community representatives, and one third public representatives ensures that the people most impacted by housing decisions help guide our work. Together, they build, manage, and advocate for permanently affordable rental and homeownership opportunities serving those who need it most.
