Raleigh Police Investigating Fatal Car Accident

On July 21, 2026, at approximately 4:40 a.m., Raleigh Police officers responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 2600 block of South Saunders Street.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a white Honda Accord was traveling northbound on South Saunders Street. The roadway was dark and intermittently illuminated by streetlights. A pedestrian, identified as Tyesha Parker, 31, was crossing the roadway from east to west while wearing dark-colored clothing when she was struck by the Honda.

Ms. Parker died because of her injuries sustained in the collision.

The driver of the Honda Accord remained at the scene and completed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs), which showed no signs of impairment.

At this time, no charges have been filed.

The investigation remains ongoing.
