Panthers Comeback Effort Comes Up Short in Green Bay

The Carolina Panthers mounted a late comeback but ultimately fell to the Green Bay Packers, 27-19, Thursday night at Lambeau Field, dropping their record to 3-4 on the season.

Carolina started strong, capitalizing on a Green Bay fumble during the opening kickoff to take an early 3-0 lead. Running back Chuba Hubbard later scored on a one-yard touchdown run, giving the Panthers a 10-6 advantage early in the second quarter.

However, Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love took control, throwing three touchdown passes as the Packers scored 21 unanswered points to build a commanding 27-10 lead in the third quarter. Love finished with 288 passing yards, while running back Josh Jacobs contributed two touchdowns.

Despite the deficit, Carolina refused to surrender. Quarterback Bryce Young connected with wide receiver Jalen Coker on a 26-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, cutting the Packers’ lead to 27-19 with just over five minutes remaining.

Young finished with 209 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception, while Hubbard totaled 119 yards from scrimmage and a rushing touchdown.

Unfortunately for Carolina, Green Bay’s defense proved too difficult to overcome. The Packers recorded six sacks and stopped the Panthers on a crucial late fourth-down attempt, ending their comeback hopes.

The loss highlighted Carolina’s continued struggles with offensive consistency and pass protection, despite flashes of resilience against a competitive Green Bay team.

With the victory, the Packers improved to 5-3, while the Panthers dropped below .500 as they look to regroup for their next matchup.
